Effiziente digitale Prozesse leben davon, dass sie nicht nur von einzelnen, sondern von vielen gelebt werden. So ist es auch mit dem Produkt-Informations-Management (PIM). Das gilt nicht nur intern im eigenen Unternehmen, sondern auch für die externe Kooperation mit den anderen Teilnehmern der Wertschöpfungskette.
Die Verwendung eines einheitlichen PIM-Systems vereinfacht und beschleunigt die Kommunikation mit Handelspartnern. Je mehr Lieferanten, Dienstleister und Kunden in einem Netzwerk auf standardisierte Produktinformationen setzen, desto effizienter kann die gemeinsame Wertschöpfung stattfinden.
Where product information is laboriously requested, optimized and supplemented several times across departments and companies, modern digitization tools help. When all members of the value chain know where their data must be optimized and where the greatest weaknesses lie, this is where the realization is established that action is needed.
The PIM system is not only the central care point for the product information of an individual company. In addition, it helps much more in the provision of data, just as your partners need it. It is the data exchange channel between companies. Using the BMEcat format for the standardized transmission of product information, grievances and errors in inquiries are reduced right from the start. Product classifications according to ETIM or eCl@ss can be easily transferred. If suppliers or suppliers provide data for their customers in a uniform standard format, it will be transferred more quickly to the retail trade without the need for further time-consuming correction loops. Hours or days of consolidation on the part of trading partners will be eliminated or reduced to a minimum. This purpose-optimized provision of product information is mapped in the PIM. Retailers adopt the standardized product information, create their own catalog from the various supplier assortments and can place the articles directly in the shop, in print media, on data sheets or displays in their own stores.
With Master PIM, suppliers, dealers and their service providers exchange product information directly. The data model is based on the BMEcat standard, i.e. product information that is imported and maintained as CSV, Excel or XML files in Master PIM can be transferred immediately in a standardized way. Master PIM was developed as a cloud solution against the background of the shortest possible integration times. This enables small and medium-sized companies to improve their data quality as quickly as possible and to optimize the sales process together with trading partners.
Product information management is therefore not an "Me" topic but a "Us" topic. Suppliers and retailers can be more successful together if they jointly respond to the digital transformation of their industry.
